he four-year Bachelor of Engineering (BE) is designed for students who wish to become engineers and prepares graduates for membership of the Institute of Professional Engineers of New Zealand (IPENZ). The BE is accredited under the Washington Accord through the Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand (IPENZ).
The degree utilises practical engineering examples and projects so students can place their knowledge in context, and includes the study of commercial, managerial and professional topics. AUT has a close relationship with a broad range of engineering companies.
In your BE, you'll enjoy top-level resources to help you develop your skills. Facilities include six computer labs, as well as electrical, electronic, telecommunications, instrumentation, mechanics, thermodynamics and pneumatics laboratories.

The first year of the BE is common to both majors.
