Awatapu College

Awatapu Colege is a vibrant and diverse community of learners with a strong focus on meeting the individual needs of all its students. The College provides a wide range of academic programmes and extra-curricular activities to ensure that every student achieves their personal best. Intensive ESOL classes and extensive academic support are provided to all international students to ensure that their learning needs are met. Nearly all of our international students achieve university entrance qualifications with hard work and focused study. Activities outside the classroom in culture, music and sport are also encouraged among the international students.

We expect excellence in all that students do by setting high standards for personal behaviour and academic achievement. Awatapu College provides firm boundaries inside a supportive and nurturing pastoral care system. All international students are placed with carefully selected homestay families. Their happiness and wellbeing are of utmost importance to the College. Positive relationships are readily established with staff and New Zealand students. International students are encouraged to make new friends in the school and local community. We aim to make their New Zealand experience a productive and happy one.
