ensures a thorough and balanced education. As part of our focus on Language, Spanish is taught by a specialist teacher commencing at Year 5.
Our curriculum philosophies and way of teaching is based on a combination of New Zealand and United Kingdom approaches using both the New Zealand Curriculum Documents and the Cambridge International Primary Programme. The progress of each student is continually monitored and assessed. From Year 1 students are coached to develop academic and social goals and to reflect on their progress. From Year 5 all students sit end of year examinations as well as regular assessment throughout the year.
Our day is divided into five teaching periods interspersed with two break periods during which children eat, drink, socialise and play in either our large indoor playground/recreation area or on the Auckland Domain. All break times are fully supervised. Transition times (Arrival 8.30 to 9.00am and Pick Up 2.45 to 3.15pm) provide an ideal time for parents and our teaching staff to share about the progress and development of the children.
