Course Details
The College offers all students a comprehensive range of subjects from Year 9 to Year 13, leading to the national qualifications of School Certificate, Sixth Form Certificate, University Bursary and Scholarship, and National Certificates of Educational Achievement. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes at five levels of instruction are available for all students, and include specialist courses in IELTS and Academic Language for specific subjects.
Rosehill College offers all students the opportunity to study languages other than English. The languages taught at the school are Maori, French, German, Japanese and Spanish. Students may enter these classes at the level of instruction appropriate to their prior knowledge of the language, i.e. Year 9 to Year 13.
Academic Year
The school year of four terms commences in late January. International students are encouraged to enter the school at the beginning of the school year in late January, but enrolments are accepted throughout the year. For students from the Northern Hemisphere, there is the opportunity to enter the school at the beginning of Term 3 in mid July.
Tuition Fees
The school fees for 2007 are NZ$11500. Uniform, stationery, medical insurance and personal items are additional costs for the students.
Facilities and Services
Rosehill College is situated in a residential suburb of the country town of Papakura, 30 minutes by car from Downtown Auckland City, and 15 minutes from Auckland International Airport. Papakura has a comprehensive shopping centre, and excellent recreational facilities, including golf courses, a new indoor/outdoor swimming complex, sporting facilities, gymnasiums and library.
Accommodation
The school administers the homestay programme. Well-supervised homestay accommodation can be arranged with families in town or in the country. Airport pickup is part of this service. The homestay accommodation fee in 2007 will be NZ$195 per week.
