Hi! My name is Margie. I decided to enrol in this course because I believe that it would be good to have extra skills that may be beneficial for me in the future. Learning is a continuous process and it should not stop with studying in a university. I gained a degree in Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management back home. Though I am still a bit unsure of which field I wanted to concentrate in, it would be good to learn a bit of extra skills as well.

“Lalu na sa panahon ngayon, pahirap ng pahirap maghanap ng trabaho. Makakatulong kung mas marami kang alam gawin. Sa dami ng taong naghahanap ng  trabaho, dapat mayroon kang lamang na kakayahan kumpara sa  iba.” (Especially in these times, finding a job is getting harder and harder. It would be helpful if you have extra skills. Many people are trying to look for a job, and you should have extra abilities to offer among the others.)

I chose to study here at Canterbury Language College because it offers a course in English while learning Retail and Barista Skills at the same time. I think the idea of putting it all together, made it more interesting, exciting, and enjoyable. You wouldn’t like to miss a single day!

I find all my three tutors very knowledgeable, approachable, understanding, and very patient to the needs of their students.

Monica who helped us polished our English language before we started the Retail and Barista Course was so patient, understanding, and polite in correcting our grammar and enhancing our vocabulary words.

Janet, our tutor in Retail Skills was so generous on sharing her knowledge and experiences in the field of sales. She gave us detailed ideas on how to be a successful sales person. Theories, role-playing and a very good tutor made the Retail Course a very motivating one.

James, who was so attentive to each student while making coffee, made the Barista Course a worthwhile one. He was making sure that we were doing the right thing; and if we didn't, he was always readily available to show us the correct ways and techniques to make it right.
