Patrick Cho

Hello, my name is Patrick Chan-ki Cho and I have been living in New Zealand for around ten years. I was originally born in South Korea but came to New Zealand when I was two years old. Now, I am thirteen and attending ACG Parnell College as a Year 8 student in the class 8PAS.

I’ve only been at ACG Parnell College for two years, but it seems that it has been long enough for me to understand why the students and staff here are so content and energetic. The staff members are warm-hearted and always available to help with a positive opinion and the students are caring and thoughtful, helping their peers whenever needed. All the people involved with the school make it a perfect place for learning and achievement.

With the College’s support, I believe I have developed immensely in my academic skills as well as my social skills. Unlike many other students, when I first came to ACG Parnell College, I had not many peers in my class nor in my Year level who I knew. It first seemed like being the “New Kid” was a whole lot harder, but I was proven wrong. Now I’m attending school with peers who are thoughtful and seem as if I’ve been living with them for as long as I can remember.

The knowledge and skills that I learnt before my ACG Parnell College intermediate years were quite basic and helped me while giving me enjoyment, but when I came to Parnell College, I was shown what education was all about yet without too much push. Not only have foreign subjects such as “the history of Egypt” and “the plagues of the Elizabethan era” been added to our knowledge, but common subjects such as Mathematics and English have also been extended immensely with the classic hint of “enjoyment.”

From the first day until now, I have absolutely loved my stay at ACG Parnell College, and it would be a shame for so many other young and bright minds to miss out on such a chance.
