Hyun Kyung Kim

Hyun Kyung is from Korea and is a Year 10 student studying at Taradale High School this year. Along with her host sister, Brydee, Hyun Kyung entered the Wearable Arts Competition. The beautiful garment that she designed was entitled, �We�ve got the Whole World in Our Hands.� which means that the world depends on how we do. The dress was composed of a world map and about 250 hands which were made of all different materials. To her surprise this talented young designer won the Wearable Arts Supreme Award, the Senior First Award and the People�s Choice. Hyun Kyung said �At 6 o�clock the show started. My heart beat was getting faster and faster. When Brydee went out on the stage and she just opened the dress, people cheered. That made me so happy. Then the MC called our names. We got three prizes. When my host mother came to us she was moved to tears. That night was the best night in New Zealand!�
