Do you want to make a significant contribution to the understanding of education? The Doctor of Philosophy (Education) allows you to deepen your knowledge in the field of education, and gives you a chance to produce a significant original contribution to the knowledge of the discipline.
This is your chance to be involved in sustained, independent study in your area of interest. The Doctor of Philosophy (Education) is a research degree at a considerably higher level than a masters degree. Your completed PhD thesis will be judged by independent experts, applying international standards.
Our academic staff have a range of research interests and international reputations for their own scholarship. They are available to supervise topics in educational leadership and management, higher education management and policy, history of education, philosophy of education, as well as sexuality/gender and education.
Unitec's New Zealand Action Research and Review Centre can offer additional support for your research project and supervise students employing an action research approach.
