The Postgraduate Certificate in Social Practice helps you further your ability to work confidently with individuals, families and communities in the cultural contexts of New Zealand. You gain an understanding of the relationships between contemporary perspectives on social practice in New Zealand, theories of power and culture, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You also explore a range of research methodologies.
Throughout your course of study you will become familiar with strategies for working across traditional lines of programmes, agencies, disciplines and cultures. You develop the competence to identify and work with the multiple facets of a situation and to follow a problem wherever it leads, rather than making it fit an established or preferred paradigm.
If you have completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Social Practice and want to continue studying, you can use your credits towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Social Practice or a Master of Social Practice qualification.
