The Diploma in Landscape Design is New Zealand’s premier garden design programme and gives you a solid grounding in plant selection, garden design and site planning – skills that are essential for your future career in landscape design.

The diploma’s strong focus on design and drawing skills sets it apart from other landscape design qualifications. Develop your knowledge of landscape design and landscape construction, and further your ability to select plants for your designs.

Our fully equipped drawing studios and computer labs give you a chance to improve your technical and creative drawing skills, as well as your understanding of CAD and Photoshop.

Your lecturers are landscape design experts, often holding executive positions on industry organisations such as the Garden Design Society of New Zealand, the Landscape Industries Association of New Zealand and the Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture.

In Year Two, you choose from a variety of course options – including native plants, business management and contract management – allowing you to tailor the diploma to suit your ultimate career goals.

The in-depth plant knowledge and grounding in management you will gain during your course of study assures employers that you have the necessary skills to excel in the field of landscape design.
