Certificate in Health Professional Practice Development

Level 7 programme

This graduate programme (NZQA Level 7) contains a selection of modules that contribute to professional practice development and can be used as evidence of professional development under the Health Practitioner Competence Assurance Act (2003).  The programme is designed to offer registered health professionals a range of professional development opportunities that have academic credits from a Nursing Council of New Zealand accredited education provider.

Modules are offered in the form of one-day workshops and short courses on varied topics that can be chosen to support the learning and practice needs of the individual.  The Certificate is awarded on the completion of 30 credits (a one day workshop is equivalent to 2 credits) from the optional modules and a capstone project of 10 credits undertaken in a clinical area. Courses start at various times throughout the year, by arrangement in response to demand.

The programme is delivered in a variety of settings, including Whitireia Campus, Porirua and the workplace.
