Level 8 programme
Registered health professionals working in speciality practice will extend their understanding and gain a nationally recognised qualification in a variety of practice areas.
The two paper programme reflects current and developing research-based practice in relation to health care delivery. The suite of papers allows for a programme of study that best meets individual student needs. Two papers are required to obtain the Postgraduate Certificate in Specialty Care. The papers can be completed over two years. Optional papers under the Specialty Care Programme are as follows:

- Primary Mental Health Care - delivered Online only
- Dual Disability (Intellectual Disability and Mental Health)
- Forensic Practice 1 - delivered Online only
- Forensic Practice 2 - delivered Online only
- Advanced Paramedic Practice 1
- Advanced Paramedic Practice 2
- Introduction to Talking Therapies

Career Opportunities:
Graduates will have developed clinical knowledge and skills relevant to their professional practice in order to deliver specialty evidence-based health care within their area of employment.
Registered Nurse graduates
Work completed as part of programme requirements may contribute to evidence for use in Professional Development Recognition Programmes (PDRP). Successful graduates may also gain credits towards Masters studies.
This programme is Nursing Council of New Zealand Approved and eligible for Clinical Training Agency (CTA) Funding available through District Health Board CTA Co-ordinators
