Gain a good grounding in business with this nationally-recognised qualification.  Students complete six compulsory and six optional courses. Specialise in accounting, marketing, human resources or management.     LEVEL 6

 

Description

This programme is recognised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants NZ (Accounting Technician) and the  New Zealand Institute of Management (NZIM).

It provides a qualification for students aspiring to management positions in a variety of disciplines as well as providing entry into higher professional qualifications. It also assists small business owners who need insight into how to effectively run and manage their small businesses.

To gain the NZ Dip Bus qualification, students must complete six compulsory and six optional courses, four of which must be at the 200 level. Each course is portable between polytechnics in New Zealand offering the Diploma. The six compulsory courses are usually offered twice a year while a wide range of optional courses are offered once a year.

Compulsory courses are any six of the following:

  • Accounting Principles
  • Introduction to Commercial Law - not offering at Porirua Campus semester 2, 2011
  • Organisation and Management
  • Economic Environment
  • Business Communication
  • Marketing Principles - not offering at Porirua Campus semester 2, 2011
  • Business Computing - not offering at Porirua Campus semester 2, 2011

Optional courses (Students must complete four Level six papers) include:
