Year 1
Semester 1 – Academic semester 22 weeks residential, Business performance (100 hours), Hospitality & Tourism Business Environment (100 hours), The Hospitality Consumer (100 hours), Food Service Operations (300 hours), Food Productions and Management (125 hours), Food Service Operations and Management (175 hours), Applied Hotel Operations (100 hours), Study Skills (100 hours), Communications and Information Technology (100 hours), Liquor Licence (100 hours).
Year 2
Semester 2 – Industry placement (Minimum of 800 hours work experience in an approved Food and Beverage position. Projected earnings: NZ$7,000-10,000
Semester 3 – Academic semester 21 weeks residential, Business Monitoring and Control (100 hours), The Organisation and Work Behaviour (100 hours), Hospitality and Tourism Marketing (100 hours), Facility and Property Operations (300 hours), Front Office Operations and Management (150 hours), Housekeeping Operations and Management (100 hours), Facilities and Property Management Systems, (50 hours), Applied Hotel Operations II (100 hours), Research Skills (100 hours), Project Management (100 hours), Reporting Writing (100 hours)
Semester 4 – Industry placement (Minimum of 800 hours work experience in an approved Rooms Division position. Projected earnings: NZ$7,000-10,000
Year 3
Semester 5 – Academic semester 21 weeks residential, Managerial Business Evaluation (100 hours), Marketing Management (100 hours), Hospitality Services Management (100 hours), Managing Hospitality Organisations (100 hours), Integrated Project (100 hours) Applied Hotel Management (50 hours), Research Methods (100 hours), Alternative Tourism (100 hours)
Degree Extension – at PIHMS or associate institutes in Switizerland and Australia
