Cultural Studies
Study the language and customs of New Zealanders in order to better understand the society around you through the mass media, as well as appropriate, authentic texts. Discuss the similarities and differences between the different cultures in the class and learn more about New Zealand and the world.

Cultural Activities
Walk from school to the many art galleries, the Public Library, the ornate railway station, the Settlers’ Museum, indoor swimming pool, and great cafés and restaurants. Explore the wider community by visiting places of interest and importance to you, such as the Otago Peninsula to see penguins, seals and albatross, the Maori marae and church, the many beaches and gardens. Enjoy rugby, soccer, golf, tennis, horseriding, swimming, bowling and ice-skating. Learn yoga, pottery, flower arranging, flax weaving, photography, and other activities of interest.
