The RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Coastal Skipper Motorcruising course is designed for those with a knowledge and understanding of motorcruising and navigation.
This Certificate of Competency allows the holder to skipper yachts up to 24m in length and to be Chief Mate on vessels of up to 500 tonnes within 60 miles of a safe haven overseas. It consists of a 6 day classroom session, an intensive 4 day practical period aboard a powerboat (plus a 1 day practical exam), together with the STCW 95 courses.
