Defence and Strategic Studies is taught by the Centre for Defence Studies, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, in partnership with the New Zealand Army. Military and civilian personnel working in the defence and security environment need a thorough understanding of the nature of conflict and the elements of successful military operations.
