The overall purpose of the Postgraduate Certificate in Speech and Language Therapy is to provide practicing SLTs with additional clinical and theoretical study founded on the knowledge obtained in the Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy. The goals of the programme are to provide advanced theoretical and clinical study in areas of speech and language therapy founded in the degree of Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy. The programme will allow SLTs to: develop areas of expertise and provide quality clinical services to individuals in the community; remain competitive as future professional advances occur in the field; become a knowledgeable and skilled consumer of research and scholarship in speech and language therapy; and gain the necessary background and expertise to apply for research degrees.
