English for Nursing

Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, with 1.3 million people.
ENGLISH FOR NURSING
This course is ideal for students who wish to study for a Bachelor of Nursing degree, or for nurses who wish to gain valuable work experience in an English speaking environment.
In addition to lessons, you will have the opportunity to work part time in the Health Care industry.
- 30 lessons per week for 24 or 36 weeks
- IELTS score of 5.5 + required
- General English/ English for Nursing (mornings)
- Academic English (afternoons)
- 20 hours a week paid work experience (weekends & evenings)
Nursing English modules include: Language of the Hospitals, the Healthcare System, Health and Disease, Medical and Anatomical Terminology, Patient Assessment, Diet, Elderly Care, Alternative Treatments, and Medication.
If you are already a qualified nurse in your own country, you can send your CV and a copy of your qualifications to the NZ Nursing Council to see if they will be accepted by NZQA. If they are accepted, you can then come to LSI and do this course at the same time as studying to reach the score of IELTS 7.0.
