The aim of the Diploma in Information Technology (Level 6) is to provide a qualification for people who are pursuing a career in information technology and who wish to specialise in either IT Support or Multimedia.
The content of the Diploma in Information Technology (Level 6) builds on the content of previous computing courses and experience and allows students to specialise in either IT Support or Multimedia.
Students who successfully complete this qualification will be able to find junior level positions in industry in either IT Support or Multimedia related roles or move on to more specialised studies including the Diploma in Information Technology (Level 7).
Diploma in Information Technology (IT Support)
The content of the Diploma in Information Technology (Level 6) builds on the content of previous training courses, and vocational or other experience and allows students to specialise in IT Support through the completion of a range of subjects including: hardware, operating system, networking, data communications, help desk support, web development, project management and software development .
Diploma in Information Technology (Multimedia)
The content of the Diploma in Information Technology (Level 6) builds on the content of previous training courses and vocational or other experience and allows students to specialise in Multimedia through the completion of a range of subjects including: multimedia development, animation, audio and video technology, project management, web development and software development.
