The Master of Commerce (MCom) degree is designed to prepare students for specialist positions in the public and private sectors. It contrasts with the MBA degree which is a post-experience programme aimed at preparing individuals for managerial positions.
The MCom degree is a one-year full-time course of study. The degree is offered in the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance, Economics, International Business, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Management, Information Systems and Marketing
Enrolment for the MCom degree is available to those who have graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce(Honours) or a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce in the subject intended for the degree with a B average of higher or equivalent as approved by the senate and faculty approval.
