The Postgraduate Diploma in Science (PGDipSci) involves one year full-time or up to four years part-time study. It is typically undertaken after the completion of a Bachelor of Science in which you have achieved a satisfactory level of competency in the subject area of the intended diploma.
The PGDipSci provides the opportunity to acquire a postgraduate qualification in a specific subject or specialisation without undertaking a research-based degree. It requires the completion of 120 points in courses at 600 or 700 level. These may include a dissertation.
Subjects offered are those that are available for the Master of Science with the exception of Forensic Science and Bioinformatics.
Students who have successfully completed a PGDipSci may apply for entry to a one-year Master of Science.
