An is now in her second year of a Bachelor of Commerce degree at UC and will graduate next year with endorsements in Marketing and Strategic Management. An decided to study overseas as she wanted to try something new. A good friend of hers was already studying at UC so An decided to join her. “My friend was really enjoying her studies and she was so enthusiastic about it that I decided to apply here too. I am so glad I did as UC a great place to study”.
Before starting her degree An completed the Foundation Studies course which prepared her for the complexity of degree study: “I knew I wanted to study Business at university but I hadn’t undertaken any Business courses at high school in Vietnam. Foundation Studies equipped me with a strong academic background in Accounting, Economics and Mathematics and this knowledge has enabled me to succeed in my degree’. She also valued the small class size and her close relationship with her teachers.
After completing her studies at UC, An is keen to pursue postgraduate study in the US. She plans to move back to Vietnam eventually but for the moment she has made a life for herself at UC: “I have made good friends here and have even found myself a weekend job. I spent a lot of time last year travelling around New Zealand sightseeing and for now I feel that Christchurch is my second home”.
