Tiep Trinh

Tiep Trinh's parents undertook considerable research in Ha Noi, Vietnam, when considering the benefits of an international education for their son. As a result of this research, they chose New Zealand, starting with a secondary education at Edgewater College in Auckland.

And Tiep is thoroughly enjoying his New Zealand education. "It is great to be here - my personal highlights have been being part of a Kiwi family, studying with good teachers, making lots of friends, and living in a beautiful country with fresh air!"

Living with his host family has been a big part of Tiep's New Zealand experience. "My host family are friendly and so kind. I am part of their family - just like a son." In addition to listening to music and reading books, Tiep's time out of school is largely spent going out with his host family and playing with his host brother and sister.

Currently studying Physics, Economics, Chemistry, Maths and English as a Second Language as part of the Year 12 curriculum, upon graduation from secondary school Tiep plans to continue his New Zealand education at university level.
