Maria Jose Iturbide Flores experienced dealing with environmental issues and policies through her previous job and decided to further her knowledge on this topic. From Guatemala, she opted to come to New Zealand to undertake a PhD degree in Environmental Policy and Planning. “I like New Zealand and from all the universities, Lincoln University was my first option.”
Before starting her PhD degree, Maria enrolled on an English Language course at Lincoln University. “The English Language Centre is great, the teachers really care about the students and the learning process has weekly topics which makes it really interesting.”
Maria likes the facilities on campus such as the Library and the Recreation Centre and says they are well-equipped. She also enjoys studying in an international environment. “The diversity of cultures makes my time at Lincoln even more interesting.”
