The friendly, informal nature of New Zealanders has already made a significant impact on Ve Le Quoc Hung.
Arriving nearly three years ago from Vietnam, he quickly felt welcomed into the community of Napier and his chosen school, the Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT). Making friendships came easily, and he quickly became known as Ken! With initial studies in English language, to obtain the appropriate level for tertiary studies, Ken has now completed the second year of his Bachelor of Computing Systems degree.
“I spent five and a half months learning English and also preparing for the IELTS exam. It was a hard time for me because everything was so new for me. But everything has passed; it was just a matter of time, and now I have adjusted to this life and I enjoy studying here very much.”
He is most impressed with the quality of facilities available him, which he has found a great asset to his study programme. “EIT has just finished the new Information Technology Building, which is highly equipped with modern computers, providing the best study environment for computing students. I was lucky to be one of the first students to study there.” Now an experienced advocate of the New Zealand education system, Ken recommends other international students to make a similar choice. “New Zealand and EIT were really my right choices and I believe it will also be your wise choice. I’m looking forward to seeing you!”
Hawkes Bay’s long summer is perfect for orchards, wineries and a relaxed lifestyle.
