People throughout the world increasingly have to deal with environmental issues that threaten our environmental and cultural integrity, community security, efficiency and equity, raising questions of sustainability and conflicts of values and ethics in general.
These problems present great challenges to the management of the environment and natural resources
The Master of Environmental Policy prepares students for positions in the public and private sectors where the policies that will shape our world will be made, as the significance of these concerns is increasingly recognised at national and international level.
Students normally take a minimum of two academic years to complete an M.E.P but it is possible to complete the degree part-time over a longer period.
M.E.P graduates can qualify for membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute provided that they include the following two courses as electives in their degree course: ERST 604 Advanced Urban, Regional & Resource Planning and LWST 602 Advanced Resource Management Law.
