Join Education New Zealand at the following Events

 

7-8 Oct 2012 – Rauru Opening, Hamburg: ENZ will participate in the re-opening of the Maori House at a museum in Hamburg. The museum was given the Maori Meeting House by a Maori Tribe a hundred years ago and has now renovated the museum to better showcase the Rauru. MFAT, NZTE, TNZ and ENZ are taking the opportunity to run activities at the museum around the re-opening.

 


9 – 14 Oct 2012 – Frankfurt Book Fair: The Frankfurt Book Fair is held annually in Frankfurt, Germany and claims a tradition that dates back to the 15th century. Each year 180,000 international visitors travel to the world’s largest content, book and media expo to do business with the creative industry’s boldest thinkers. Over five days the fair’s 7,500 exhibitors will see more than 300,000 visitors from over 110 countries. In the past 20 years New Zealand has occupied a 65-100m2 space in the trade arena, for New Zealand publishers. This year, New Zealand has accepted to be Guest of Honour of the fair. It is a huge opportunity to showcase NZ’s innovation and creativity in literacy, digital media, education resources alongside with the publishing and translation industry, and NZ’s arts, culture, film, music and gourmet competencies. ENZ will run a number of activities to promote NZ’s education capabilities during the fair.

 


28 – 30 Oct 2012 – ICEF Workshop, Berlin: The workshop is for international educators, premium agents, work & travel professionals, as well as leading industry service providers. 2,000 participants from more than 90 countries are expected to attend. ENZ is participating as exhibitor and workshop attendee at the three day event.

 


31 Oct 2012 – NZSA Training, Berlin: ENZ is organizing a further training for German and European education agents. 30 agents are expected to attend.

 


 

Past Events

 

4 Feb 2012 - JUBI Fair, Mainz: A specialised fair for secondary education and language courses abroad. 41 exhibitors participated in the event. Most exhibitors were German education agents offering high-school programmes abroad. Many of these offered New Zealand as a destination. Some agents are NZ Specialist Agents and proudly presented their NZSA Certificate or logo on their stand. The fair particularly targeted secondary school students from age 12 to 18. Most demand was expressed for secondary education abroad; some interest was shown for internships, language courses, work & holiday programmes and au-pair/demi-pair options. Very few inquiries were received for tertiary education abroad. Education New Zealand had a stand with generic information about education options at secondary, tertiary and EL level in NZ. Interest for New Zealand was good.

 


 

7 Feb 2012 - Wege ins Ausland, Cologne: 73 national and international exhibitors participated in this fair for tertiary education abroad. The majority of exhibitors were higher education institutions from Cologne region, the Netherlands, France, Canada, and the US as well as German education agents, cultural associations and youth organisations. There was a constant flow of visitors to the ENZ stand. Most interest was expressed for study abroad programmes during undergraduate studies, full master programmes, and the Working Holiday Scheme. Some interest was expressed for PhD programmes as well as for secondary education. Inquiries for internships and English language courses were less than in previous years. Most visitors were secondary school students in their final year at high school, and university students in their first two years of tertiary education. 2,000 visitors attended "Wege ins Ausland 2012".

 




24 – 25 Feb 2012 - Einstieg Fair, Hamburg: 39,000 visitors attended Einstieg Hamburg 2012 over the two day period; 358 exhibitors participated in the fair. The majority of exhibitors were German companies, tertiary education providers, and career advisers. International exhibitors came from Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Scandinavia, the UK, Hungary, the US, and Canada. Education agents also presented their placement services for study, training and travel programmes abroad. At the international section of the fair, education providers and agents for English speaking countries caught most attention compared to non-English speaking programmes. The ENZ stand attracted a good amount of visitors. Most interest for New Zealand was expressed for Study Abroad programmes at higher education institutions, language courses and working holiday options. Demand for full study programmes at postgraduate level was also noticed.

 


21 April 2012 – Meet the Schools, Hamburg: The NZ Specialist Agent Hausch & Partner organized a New Zealand/ Australia Day in collaboration with more than 20 NZ secondary schools. ENZ supported the event. Visitor numbers were overwhelming.

 


11 – 12 May 2012 – Study World, Berlin: More than 7,500 visitors attended this large fair for tertiary education abroad. ENZ had 4 NZ tertiary education providers at the stand to promote study programmes in NZ. Interest for undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses and study-abroad programmes was very good. Together with the US Embassy and a Russian institution, ENZ was part of an extensive radio interview at a national radio station at the fair. The 45 minute interview was broadcasted live and is available online for three months.

 


 

9 June 2012 – JUBI Fair, Kiel: Specialized fair for secondary education abroad as well as language courses abroad, and travel programmes. Expected visitor numbers are 2,000.

 


12 June 2012 – NZSA Agent Training: Up to 20 new agents from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Norway will participate in the Specialist Agent Training.

 



24 – 26 Aug 2012 – Museums Ufer Fest, Frankfurt:
The festival is an annual event as part of the Frankfurt Book Fair. Over 3 days Frankfurt celebrates its museums with a unique festival combining art, literature, culture, music, crafts, travel and gastronomy. The Guest of Honour of the Frankfurt Book Fair has a designated mile for showcasing its characteristics. With over 3 million visitors the festival ranks among Europe’s largest cultural celebrations. ENZ will have a stand at the NZ mile informing about education options in NZ. ENZ will be supported by several local education agents.

 


1 Sep – Schueleraustauschmesse, Bargteheide: ENZ will be represented at the popular fair for secondary studies abroad just north of Hamburg. Come and visit us at the stand.

 


15 Sep 2012 – Open Day @ Eurovacances: ENZ will participate in the event that is organized by the NZSA Eurovacances in Hamburg.
