Monday, 21 June 2010

New Zealand is famous for its Rugby team, the All Blacks, but these days the county is making waves at soccer's FIFA World Cup.

The underdogs from New Zealand, called the "All Whites" have surprised soccer fans around the world by drawing their first two games. Their first game was played against Slovakia, and Kiwi fans were delighted when the game ended with a 1-1 draw.

The team's second match against world champions Italy was expected to end with the Italians gaining an easy victory, but the New Zealand team was full of surprises. They scored the first goal of the match, then went on to defend solidly against a dominant Italian team and keep them to one goal. The game ended in another 1-1 draw, much to the delight of Kiwis and shock of Italian fans.
