NZ Safety and Quality of Life Among the Best

The 2010 version of the Mercer Human Resources survey ranking Quality of Life in over 200 cities world-wide has been released - with Auckland and Wellington maintaining their impressive rankings.
Auckland is tied for 4th place once more with Vancouver, Canada, while Wellington remains at 12th place.
New Zealand communities are also measuring up well for safety. Rotorua was recently made the 10th community in New Zealand to earn the World Health Organization's "International Safe Community" designation. The New Zealand communities with the designation currently are:
1. Waitakere (Auckland)
2. Waimakariri (Christchurch)
3. New Plymouth (Taranaki)
4. Whangarei (Northland)
5. Wellington
6. North Shore (Auckland)
7. Tauranga (Bay of Plenty)
8. Porirua (Wellington)
9. Christchurch
10. Rotorua
And the 11 communities in the process of applying for this designation are:
1. Masterton (Wairarapa)
2. Carterton (Wairarapa)
3. South Wairarapa (Wairarapa)
4. Napier (Hawkes Bay)
5. Taupo
6. Wanganui
7. Hutt City (Wellington)
8. Upper Hutt (Wellington)
9. Gisborne
10. Nelson
11. Tasman
